Poly Webinar

Universe and Poly - Webinar Round Up

Last month we hosted a joint webinar with David Hills of Poly. This event was open exclusively to Firstcom’s registered partners. Our relationship with Poly was developed for the following reasons:

  • Completeness of range
  • Competitive pricing
  • Exceptional build quality
  • Teams, Zoom and Universe Meeting Space Integration
  • Future proofing

For those of you that weren’t able to attend, you can click on the button below to watch the recording.

Here is a recap of what we covered:

  • Overview of the Poly range
  • Handsets, Headsets and Video Conferencing
  • Application Integration
  • Why Poly and Firstcom – benefits to partners and their end-user prospects

Thank you to those partners who attended the live event. Here is a selection of some of the questions we received during and after the event and our answers. If you haven’t already given us your feedback and comments you can do so by emailing me: chris.walters@firstcomeurope.com.

Question 1- Are you dropping Yealink and Cisco Hardware? –  No we will continue to sell these products, as we have lots of customers using them and also Partners focussed selling them. We believe the addition of Poly as a third hardware vendor ensures Firstcom Europe offer complete flexibility when it comes to hardware choice.

Question 2 – How can I be sure if I choose a Poly headset it will work with my existing handset? Please contact your channel account manager, as we have a compatibility tool that enables us to check suitability.

Question 3 – Can we rent Poly handsets? Yes Firstcom Europe can offer handsets and headsets either on a purchase or rental basis. Brett Kershaw also described our new capability to offer flexible leasing should a partner wish to secure payment of upfront commission.

Question 4 – Will you be selling other ranges of Poly handsets other than the VVX range? – At the moment the plan is to initially sell the VVX range which is designed for the SME and Mid Market business user. We may consider at a later date to add additional Poly handset ranges.

Question 5 – What is the difference between the X range and G750 range of video conferencing units? – The X30 is designed for individual and small meeting rooms. The X50 is designed for medium sized meeting rooms and finally the G750 delivers a full Ultra HD 4K experience for medium to large conferencing units. The G750 delivers premium audio quality and voice clarity. Users can share content wirelessly from any device, including content annotation and digital whiteboarding.  Firstcom Europe is accredited to sell all 3 variants.

Finally, we are pleased to announce that the lucky winners of the Poly Calisto speakerphones were Anj Latif of Radon Networks and Jason Watkins of JIT Computer Services
