Cyber Security Accreditations

Communications privacy and information security are crucial to businesses of all sizes and sectors; however, the telecommunications sector can be a target for cyber-attacks which can result in data breaches. Enhanced security and regulatory compliance are priorities for Firstcom Europe.

Cyber Security

What are the benefits of getting cyber security accreditations?

By following the internationally recognised accreditation processes, a company can strengthen its cyber security defences. Certification ensures the deployment of proven and effective controls and processes.

A company with robust cyber security protection is less likely to have its systems locked or even destroyed by rogue cyber-attacks, less likely to have sensitive customer data stolen and more capable of providing business continuity in the event of a natural disaster.

Companies with accreditation will have a proactive, systematic detection of vulnerabilities to further reduce the chances of security breaches.

The standards promote a culture of continuous improvement. This means Firstcom regularly reviews and updates its systems to stay aligned with evolving threats and best practices.

The following independently audited certifications demonstrate our commitment to providing the highest possible standards in security for our customers.

ISO 27001

ISO 27001 is the internationally recognised standard for an Information Security Management System (ISMS).

Protecting sensitive data: As a telecommunications provider we handle sensitive data. ISO 27001 provides a framework for maintaining and improving security to protect this data from cyber threats.

Business continuity: A fundamental part of ISO 27001 certification is the implementation of procedures and controls to ensure operations resume quickly and efficiently in the event of a disaster such as flood or fire. It is also crucial that information security measures are maintained during and after any disruption.

Compliance with ISO 27001 ensures that all Firstcom IT systems and services meet or exceed industry standards.

Cyber Essentials Plus

Cyber Essentials is a UK government-backed certification scheme that helps keep an organisation’s information and its customers’ data safe from cyber-attacks. Cyber Essentials has two certification levels:

Cyber Essentials: Requires self-assessment.

Cyber Essentials Plus: Consists of rigorous independent technical testing.

This advanced certification confirms that Firstcom has implemented strong cyber security controls and demonstrates a proactive approach to cyber security.

Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT)

As a telephony supplier to NHS practices, Firstcom Europe is required to complete an annual NHS online assessment to provide assurance that we maintain a high level of data security, and that information is processed and stored safely.

Firstcom achieved “Standards Exceeded” against the National Data Guardian’s 10 data security standards.
